Senior Associate – Third-Party Risk Management & Operational Resilience

About the role

The Senior Associate will work in the Operational Risk & Resilience Centre of Excellence, reporting to the Associate Director, Operational Resilience. Acting as the subject‑matter expert for third‑party risk within the Institutional division, the role will help shape a risk‑based, forward‑looking third‑party risk management approach aligned with ANZ’s operational resilience strategy and regulatory expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Build and embed consistent governance, reporting and management information frameworks for third‑party risk across the division.
• Enhance visibility of third‑party risk exposure, emerging vulnerabilities and trends across business units and geographies.
• Support delivery of the Institutional Third‑Party Risk uplift strategy as part of the broader operational resilience agenda.
• Assess and triage third‑party non‑financial risk requests using a materiality‑based approach.
• Drive a “one‑way, same‑way” operating model to ensure consistency, quality and scalability across the division.
• Partner with risk owners and control owners to improve risk identification, assessment and mitigation.

Required profile

• Proven experience in third‑party risk management within a banking or financial services environment.
• Strong understanding of operational resilience and non‑financial risk concepts.
• Ability to design and implement governance and reporting frameworks.
• Experience applying materiality‑based risk assessment methodologies.
• Excellent collaboration skills to work with risk owners, control owners and senior stakeholders.
