Senior Associate - Indirect Tax

About the role

Kevin Shah & Associates is seeking a Senior Associate to lead day‑to‑day advisory and compliance work on GST and other indirect taxes. The role involves close collaboration with partners, junior staff, and clients to deliver high‑quality tax solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Handle daily GST advisory and compliance tasks.
• Review and prepare tax computations, returns, and supporting documentation.
• Ensure adherence to firm templates and processes.
• Research and interpret indirect tax laws, draft opinions and reports.
• Support litigation and representation before tax authorities as needed.
• Collaborate with partners and team members, maintain client communication, and ensure timely delivery of work.
• Take responsibility for the accuracy of computations prepared by junior staff.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of Indirect Tax Law, including GST and customs.
• Hands‑on experience in tax compliance and preparation, including returns and filings.
• Understanding of finance principles such as transaction analysis and financial statements.
• Professional qualification (CA, CS, LLB or equivalent) preferred.
• Excellent research, analytical and drafting skills with high attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments, meet deadlines and work effectively in a team.
