Senior Associate Director – Mining (Global Projects)

About the role

AECOM’s Enterprise Capabilities team is seeking a Senior Associate Director – Resources + Industry to lead mining and global projects from its Bengaluru office.

Key responsibilities

• Build, mobilise and lead the multidisciplinary EC Resources + Industry micro‑team in line with project demand and recruitment plans.
• Act as the principal day‑to‑day interface between ANZ Resources + Industry project and pursuit teams and the Enterprise Capabilities delivery organisation.
• Convert pipeline visibility into workforce plans, recruitment priorities, onboarding actions and succession plans.
• Coordinate EC input to pursuits, mobilisation planning, estimates, delivery strategies and workshare commitments.
• Oversee team utilisation, workload balance, forecast demand, delivery performance and cost effectiveness.
• Establish clear ownership, hand‑offs, communication routines and escalation paths across international teams and time zones.
• Coach and develop team members, strengthen technical and project delivery capability, and foster an inclusive, high‑performing culture.
• Track and report EC hours, workshare uptake, recruitment progress and delivery performance against growth plans.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, design management, project management or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 12 years of experience in engineering consultancy or EPCM delivery within mining, resources, energy or industrial sectors.
• At least four years of formal accountability for people leadership, design management or project delivery performance.
• Proven experience leading multidisciplinary design or project delivery teams across multiple locations.
• Experience establishing or scaling a delivery team, including recruitment, onboarding and capability development.
• Strong understanding of project planning, resourcing, risk, quality, commercial performance and client service.
• Professional fluency in written and spoken English and confidence working with Australian and international stakeholders.
