Restaurant Captain – Italian Cuisine

About the role

We are seeking an experienced, customer‑focused Captain to lead the Italian cuisine service in our restaurant. The role requires deep knowledge of Italian dishes, strong guest‑handling abilities, and the capacity to coordinate the service team to deliver a smooth, memorable dining experience.

Key responsibilities

• Welcome guests with professional, warm, and attentive service.
• Take food and beverage orders accurately, explaining menu items, ingredients, and preparation methods.
• Recommend dishes and suitable combinations based on guest preferences.
• Coordinate with the kitchen and service team to ensure timely and accurate order delivery.
• Handle guest queries, feedback, and complaints professionally.
• Maintain proper table setup, restaurant cleanliness, and service standards.
• Supervise stewards and waiters during the shift, ensuring smooth floor operations.
• Monitor food presentation and service quality.
• Work with the chef on special requests, allergies, and modifications.
• Assist in training junior staff on menu knowledge and service standards.
• Ensure compliance with hygiene, safety, and operational procedures.
• Handle billing and payment processes when required.
• Support the Restaurant Manager in daily operations.

Required profile

• Minimum 12th pass; Diploma/Degree in Hotel Management preferred.
• 2–5 years of relevant experience in Italian/Continental restaurants, cafés, hotels, or fine‑dining establishments.
• Strong knowledge of Italian cuisine, including pasta, pizza, sauces, cheeses, and beverages.
• Excellent communication and guest‑handling skills.
• Ability to upsell food and beverage items.
• Pleasant personality, professional grooming, and ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• Basic knowledge of POS systems and restaurant billing.
