Principal Engineer I – Cloud & Solutions

About the role

Invesco is seeking a Principal Engineer I to design, deploy, and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure on AWS. You will work closely with development and IT teams to ensure reliable, secure, and cost‑effective cloud services across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Design, deploy, configure, and maintain AWS compute, storage, networking, AI, and security services.
• Implement monitoring and alerting using Splunk, CloudWatch, and ServiceNow.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning with Terraform, CloudFormation, OpenTofu, and scripting (Python, Bash).
• Participate in on‑call rotations, troubleshoot incidents, and resolve security issues.
• Enforce security best practices, manage access controls, and ensure compliance with governance policies.
• Optimize cloud resources for performance and cost efficiency.
• Collaborate with development teams for application deployments and with IT for infrastructure needs.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of architectures, procedures, and incident reports.

Required profile

• Ability to solve complex problems and provide guidance to less‑experienced colleagues.
• Independent work style with minimal supervision.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting capabilities.
