Plumbing & Fire Protection Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Plumbing & Fire Protection Engineer to design, develop and oversee the installation of plumbing and fire‑protection systems for a variety of construction projects. The role collaborates with architects, project managers and contractors to ensure that all systems are efficient, safe and compliant with local codes and standards.

Key responsibilities

• Create detailed designs, plans and specifications for plumbing and fire‑protection systems, adhering to regulatory requirements.
• Interpret architectural drawings and assess project needs to size and scope the required systems.
• Coordinate with architects, project managers, contractors and other engineering disciplines to integrate systems into overall project plans.
• Conduct site visits to inspect installation progress and verify compliance with approved designs.
• Supervise installation activities, providing guidance to contractors and ensuring industry standards are met.
• Perform hydraulic calculations, including pipe sizing, pressure‑drop and flow‑rate analysis.
• Troubleshoot system issues during construction and after completion.
• Stay current with emerging technologies, codes and best practices in plumbing and fire‑protection engineering.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical, Building Services or related engineering discipline.
• Proven experience designing and installing plumbing and fire‑protection systems.
• Strong knowledge of local building codes, fire‑protection regulations and industry standards.
• Ability to conduct site inspections and provide technical guidance on‑site.
• Excellent communication skills for collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
