Medical Officer – General Medicine & Multispecialty Clinic

About the role

The Medical Officer will deliver direct clinical care to out‑patients at Ghoshi Multispeciality Clinic, focusing on general medical needs while collaborating with specialist teams in ENT, Nephrology, Surgery and Orthopedics. This full‑time, on‑site position is based in Madurai and emphasizes accurate diagnosis, evidence‑based treatment, and continuity of care.

Key responsibilities

• Take patient histories, perform physical examinations, diagnose and treat common outpatient and minor emergency conditions.
• Prescribe medications, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and coordinate referrals to specialist physicians.
• Maintain detailed, accurate medical records and adhere to clinic clinical protocols.
• Participate in patient education, basic clinical procedures, and support internal training for clinical and support staff.
• Contribute to quality and safety standards, including infection control and ethical practice.

Required profile

• Recognized medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) with valid registration from the appropriate medical council.
• Strong foundation in general medicine and ability to manage common outpatient and minor emergency cases.
• Demonstrated patient‑care skills, empathetic communication and effective follow‑up management.
• Experience training or mentoring junior clinicians and support teams is preferred.
• Ability to assist in minor surgical and clinical procedures within scope of practice.
• Willingness to work flexible hours in a busy outpatient environment.

Required skills

• Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
