ITI Fitter – Mechanical Assembly & Maintenance Specialist

About the role

The ITI Fitter is responsible for assembling, installing, and maintaining mechanical equipment across industrial environments. The role ensures machinery operates safely and efficiently, supporting overall production excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Assemble, install, and maintain mechanical systems and machinery.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
• Perform repairs and routine maintenance to keep equipment functional.
• Use hand and power tools, as well as precision measuring instruments, to execute tasks.
• Conduct quality checks and debugging to prevent operational failures.
• Collaborate with engineers and supervisors to improve processes.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment in line with health and safety regulations.
• Document all procedures, repairs, and maintenance activities.
• Identify potential issues and propose proactive solutions.

Required profile

• Completion of ITI Fitter certification or equivalent vocational training.
• High school diploma or equivalent; additional industry certifications are a plus.
• Proven experience as an ITI Fitter or in a similar industrial role.
• Strong attention to detail, commitment to safety, and ability to work both independently and in a team.

Required skills

• Proficiency in reading technical drawings and specifications.
• Mechanical aptitude and problem‑solving ability.
• Experience fabricating and assembling mechanical components.
• Skilled use of hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments.
• Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electrical systems (asset).
• Ability to operate diagnostic and testing equipment.
• Basic computer skills for reporting and documentation.
