Infection Control Nurse – Bardez, Goa

About the role

The hospital is seeking a dedicated Infection Control Nurse to lead and coordinate infection prevention activities across all departments. Reporting to the Manager – Quality & Nursing, the role ensures compliance with infection control policies and promotes a safe environment for patients and staff.

Key responsibilities

• Assign duties and oversee infection control activities throughout the facility.
• Maintain surveillance of hospital areas and laboratory data related to infections.
• Conduct regular rounds to verify adherence to infection control guidelines.
• Monitor implementation of the hospital’s infection control policy, cleaning, disinfection and sterilisation practices.
• Identify infection rates in high‑risk areas and audit hand‑washing practices.
• Plan and coordinate hospital‑wide education and training programs on infection control.
• Participate in ongoing training to keep knowledge up‑to‑date.
• Perform any additional tasks assigned by the Medical Director or management.

Required profile

• GNM qualification with specific training in infection control practices.
• 3 to 7 years of experience in a healthcare setting.
• Adherence to the specified dress code and possession of an ID card.
• Availability to work duty hours as per scheduled requirements.
• Reporting line: Manager – Quality & Nursing.

Required skills

• Infection control surveillance.
• Hand‑hygiene auditing.
• Monitoring of cleaning, disinfection and sterilisation processes.
• Knowledge of NABH standards.
