Project Manager – Individual Consultant (Local)

About the role

The Project Manager will provide management and coordination support for donor‑supported family planning projects, linking UNFPA Country and State Offices with government counterparts, implementing partners and technical agencies.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement annual, quarterly and monthly workplans; monitor deliverables, milestones and indicators.
• Coordinate with State Offices, government departments and partners to ensure timely implementation and resolve bottlenecks.
• Conduct field visits, facilitate review meetings and prepare briefing notes, presentations and activity updates.
• Maintain project monitoring trackers, track budget expenditure and prepare monthly, quarterly and annual donor reports.
• Document lessons learned, produce knowledge products and synthesize evidence for policy dialogue.

Required profile

• Advanced university degree in Medicine, Public Health, Social Sciences or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of professional experience in programme/project management, preferably in family planning, SRHR or health systems.
• Experience coordinating multi‑stakeholder projects at state or sub‑national level.
• Fluency in English (spoken and written); working knowledge of Hindi is desirable.

Required skills

• Project planning, monitoring, reporting and budget tracking.
• Understanding of family planning and SRHR, including contraceptive methods such as implants and DMPA‑SC.
• Data analysis and results tracking.
• Strong coordination, problem‑solving and communication abilities.
