Design Engineer

About the role

Burckhardt Compression India is looking for a motivated Design Engineer to join its engineering team in Kondhapuri. You will work on the creation and management of detailed mechanical drawings for casting, forging, machining, assembly and tubing components, supporting the development of reciprocating compressors and related equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Model and draft 3D drawings using UG‑NX for casting, forging, machining, assembly and tubing parts.
• Perform preliminary checks of drawings and ensure compliance with international standards (API, ASME, ASTM, DIN).
• Manage drawing data in PLM Teamcenter and coordinate with SAP ERP for bill of material preparation.
• Issue drawings and related documents to internal departments as required.
• Maintain documentation and records in line with ISO guidelines and IMS (QMS + EMS) procedures.
• Support order execution, resolve non‑conformances, field complaints and contribute to new product development.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in mechanical design.
• Good academic record.
• Proficiency in English; German is a plus.

Required skills

• UG‑NX (or comparable 3D CAD software).
• PLM Teamcenter.
• SAP ERP (or similar ERP system).
• MS Office.
• Knowledge of GD&T.
• Familiarity with API, ASME, ASTM, DIN standards.
