Database Administrator - MSSQL, PostgreSQL & MySQL

About the role

ECS is looking for a skilled Database Administrator with strong hands-on experience in Microsoft SQL Server and open-source databases (PostgreSQL and MySQL). The role covers production and disaster recovery environments, ensuring performance, security and high availability for on-premise and cloud deployments. The candidate also supports Amazon RDS and helps development teams with database changes.

Key responsibilities

• Manage production and disaster recovery environments for MSSQL, PostgreSQL and MySQL
• Ensure performance, security and high availability for on-premise and cloud deployments
• Provide support for Amazon RDS
• Assist development teams with database changes
• Implement best practices for optimization, security and reliability

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field
• 5+ years of database administration experience across MSSQL, PostgreSQL and MySQL
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
• Ability to work in high-pressure production environments

Required skills

• MSSQL Server administration (installation, configuration, maintenance, troubleshooting)
• PostgreSQL and MySQL administration
• AWS RDS (PostgreSQL/MySQL) and cloud database deployments
• Database security: users, roles, privileges and best practices
• Backup/recovery strategies and high availability solutions
• Performance tuning, indexing and query optimization
• Familiarity with Linux and Windows hosting environments
• Good to have: DevOps and CI/CD exposure, database migration projects, certifications in MSSQL, PostgreSQL or MySQL
