Control Engineer – Train Control Systems

About the role

The Control Engineer will work on train control functions, covering everything from system architecture to detailed specifications. You will design low‑voltage and software control solutions that meet customer requirements and support the integration and validation of rolling‑stock projects.

Key responsibilities

• Implement development practices and rules defined in Train Control support plans.
• Formulate low‑voltage and software control design solutions for assigned functions.
• Deliver functional design descriptions, man‑machine interfaces, electrical schemes, and product definitions in line with quality, cost, and schedule commitments.
• Produce Interface Control Documents (ICD) for subsystem interactions.
• Handle change requests and ensure standardisation and reuse of previous project solutions.
• Support supplier interface testing and verification on PC or TCMS test benches.
• Provide assistance during train integration and validation phases when required.
• Contribute knowledge back to the team on software, schematics, and apparatus.

Required profile

• 2‑5 years of experience in control engineering, preferably in rolling‑stock, aerospace, or automotive domains.
• Experience with electrical and schematic design activities.
• Hands‑on design and development using IEC 61131‑3 programming or model‑based tools such as Matlab/Simulink or Control Build.
• Knowledge of network topologies and interfaces (Serial, Ethernet, MVB, etc.).
