Commis II – Food & Beverage Team Member

About the role

Join the culinary team at a leading hotel brand in Mumbai as a Commis II. You will support chefs by preparing ingredients, cooking dishes, and maintaining a clean, safe kitchen environment.

Key responsibilities

• Portion, chop, wash, peel, weigh, measure and mix ingredients according to recipes.
• Prepare and cook hot and cold foods, ensuring quality, presentation and food‑safety standards.
• Operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves and fryers; test foods for doneness.
• Set up and break down work stations, serve food in proper portions, and maintain cleanliness of kitchen surfaces, tools and equipment.
• Monitor appliance and food temperatures, follow safety policies, and report any hazards or maintenance needs.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• At least one year of experience in a similar food‑preparation role.
• No supervisory experience required.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend and lift objects up to 25 lb for an entire shift.

• Food preparation and cooking techniques.
• Operating kitchen equipment (ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, fryers).
• Food safety and hygiene practices.
• Accurate portioning, measuring and mixing of ingredients.
