Capex Accountant – Budget & MIS Management

About the role

The Capex Accountant will oversee the organization’s capital and operational expenditure budgets while developing and maintaining a Management Information System (MIS) for Capex activities. This position requires solid financial management expertise and an understanding of the renewable energy sector.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, monitor, and control the annual Capex budget, aligning investments with strategic goals.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to identify capital needs and review project proposals, financial justifications, and feasibility studies.
• Track and report Capex spending, providing regular updates to senior management.
• Assist in Opex budget planning, conduct variance analysis, and recommend cost‑optimization measures.
• Design, develop, and maintain a comprehensive Capex MIS, generating reports and dashboards for project status and financial performance.
• Work with IT to ensure data integrity, system reliability, and explore automation opportunities.
• Perform financial analysis (ROI, payback period) and prepare forecasts, presentations, and recommendations for investment decisions.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and accounting standards; identify and mitigate financial and operational risks.

Required profile

• 2‑4 years of post‑qualification experience.
• Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification is mandatory.
• Strong understanding of financial management, budgeting, and renewable energy industry dynamics.
