Bilingual Virtual Medical Assistant (English & Spanish)

About the role

This full‑time remote position supports U.S. healthcare providers by delivering administrative and clinical assistance in both English and Spanish. The Virtual Medical Assistant ensures smooth patient interactions, accurate record keeping, and compliance with HIPAA standards while working from a home office aligned with U.S. time zones.

Key responsibilities

• Manage patient scheduling, coordination, and telehealth workflow support.
• Update and maintain electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) with accurate clinical information.
• Verify insurance coverage, benefits, and assist with prior authorizations.
• Communicate with patients and staff via phone, email, and portal in English and Spanish.
• Handle patient inquiries, document encounters, and ensure timely follow‑up.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and adhere to organizational policies.

Required profile

• Fluency in spoken and written English and Spanish with professional communication skills.
• Experience in medical assisting, patient care, and medical office operations.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and U.S. healthcare regulations.
• Proven ability to work remotely with a reliable internet connection and U.S. time‑zone availability.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and capacity to manage multiple tasks.
• Previous experience in a virtual assistant, call‑center, or healthcare support role is beneficial.
