Assistant Manager – Indirect Tax (Ahmedabad)

About the role

The Assistant Manager – Indirect Tax will support BDO India’s tax practice by managing GST and other indirect tax engagements for clients in Ahmedabad and across India. The role involves delivering tax advisory, compliance, and restructuring services while maintaining high standards of client service.

Key responsibilities

• Handle engagements related to GST, Customs, FTP and SEZ compliance, including appeals and tax restructuring.
• Analyse and interpret provisions under the GST Act, Customs Act and related rules, and ensure accurate indirect tax compliance.
• Coordinate with internal departments to obtain approvals, registrations and other statutory requirements.
• Identify and communicate new business opportunities to senior team members and build internal networks across service lines.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience in indirect tax, preferably with a CA qualification (Core).
• Ability to understand client issues, ask relevant technical questions and gather necessary information.
• Strong client‑facing skills, timely responsiveness and commitment to delivering outstanding service.
• Proactive in updating managers on work‑related issues and ensuring execution of assigned engagements.
