Accountant – On-site in Salem, Tamil Nadu

About the role

We are seeking a detail‑oriented Accountant to manage day‑to‑day accounting and bookkeeping for our growing food and manufacturing business in Salem, Tamil Nadu. The role involves handling invoices, payments, reconciliations and basic financial controls while working independently.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate daily books of accounts, recording purchase and sales invoices, expenses, receipts and payments.
• Verify bills and supporting documents before posting transactions.
• Perform regular bank reconciliations to ensure books match bank statements.
• Manage accounts payable, track outstanding payments and process vendor payments.
• Maintain customer and supplier account records and monitor receivables/payables.
• Assist with GST filings and other statutory accounting requirements.
• Prepare and maintain ledgers, supporting documentation, and resolve discrepancies.
• Provide basic financial reports and information to management.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of fundamental accounting principles and double‑entry bookkeeping.
• Comfortable with bank reconciliation, invoice processing, and managing receivables/payables.
• Working knowledge of GST and basic statutory compliance.
• Proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets.
• Experience with Zoho Books is preferred.
• High attention to detail, ownership of routine accounting tasks, and good communication skills.
• 3+ years of relevant accounting experience.
