Zonal Commercial Head – South Region

About the role

The Zonal Commercial Head for the South region will lead all commercial operations, ensuring smooth, accurate, and compliant business processes across multiple states. This senior position collaborates closely with sales, finance, marketing, and logistics teams to drive revenue and maintain regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee commercial operations at the zonal level, including material receipt recording, invoicing, and rate master updates.
• Manage secondary transportation rates, sales tax/VAT assessments, and related filing requirements.
• Appoint and evaluate C&F agents and stockists, reviewing agreements and performance.
• Support marketing in rate quoting, advertising budget monitoring, and distribution of promotional materials.
• Control fund flow, coordinate with depots, and ensure timely collections and bank reconciliations.
• Prepare and review credit/debit notes, expense vouchers, and periodic financial reports.
• Monitor sales and marketing performance indicators such as credit limits, cheque bounce rates, and days outstanding.
• Assist the Zonal Head and corporate finance teams with budgeting, P&B exercises, and corrective actions.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in commercial and sales operations within a multi‑state environment.
• Strong understanding of tax regulations, invoicing, and fund management.
• Proven ability to manage agent networks, negotiate rates, and oversee advertising spend.
• Excellent analytical skills for financial forecasting and performance monitoring.
