Site Shift Officer – Manufacturing Operations

About the role

The Site Shift Officer is responsible for overseeing safe and efficient plant operations during each shift. You will supervise the shift crew, ensure compliance with safety procedures, and support maintenance activities to keep production running smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and monitor safety procedures, conduct risk assessments and toolbox talks before job execution.
• Support start‑up, shut‑down and preservation activities, providing field supervision for emergencies and emergency shutdowns.
• Assist the Maintenance Manager in tracking process parameters, troubleshooting issues, and expediting maintenance work.
• Manage inventory of chemicals and catalysts, and ensure effective use of SAP for material handling.
• Utilise the OMPro tool for process monitoring and improvement studies.
• Maintain shift logs, work permits, and ensure 100% compliance with HOTO hand‑over processes.
• Coordinate with field and maintenance executives to accelerate maintenance tasks and safe equipment hand‑overs.
• Participate in incident learning, root‑cause analysis, and suggest improvement opportunities.

Required profile

• B.E./B.Tech in Chemical, Textile or a related engineering discipline with strong academic records.
• 2‑3 years of experience for degree holders (or 5‑6 years for diploma holders) in a similar industrial environment.
• Proven experience in managing a team and handling shift‑level responsibilities.
• Good communication, problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities.
