Project Purchasing Engineer – Mechanical Components

About the role

We are looking for a Project Purchasing Engineer to lead component and part development, vendor management and cost optimisation for mechanical components, casting, machining and forging parts at Bosch Rexroth India.

Key responsibilities

• Manage component/part development, new part development (NPD) and vendor development.
• Conduct cost negotiation, zero‑based costing and strategic sourcing activities.
• Prepare and execute RFQ processes, supplier evaluation and techno‑commercial discussions.
• Lead program and project management for mechanical components, machinery building and sub‑assemblies.
• Ensure quality, cost and delivery targets are met and coordinate preventive quality planning (VQP).
• Interface with Central Purchasing, material, quality and manufacturing departments.
• Coordinate material ratio planning and change management for developed or procured parts.
• Travel domestically and internationally as required for project support.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering field.
• 4‑8 years of experience in purchasing mechanical parts, vendor development and project purchasing.
• Strong analytical, organisational and communication skills.
• Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.
• Experience with SAP, MS Office, SharePoint and Microsoft Teams.
