Process Simulation Model Engineer

About the role

As a Model Engineer within AVEVA Process Simulation, you will apply your chemical engineering expertise to create and validate reusable models of process equipment. You will work closely with product managers, architects, and customers to ensure the simulation platform meets industry standards and delivers reliable performance.

Key responsibilities

• Define governing equations for chemical processes and develop corresponding models in the AVEVA Process Simulation platform.
• Design, execute, and document comprehensive test plans and automated test scripts for PROII and related simulation tools.
• Collaborate with product managers and architects to analyse and refine functional requirements.
• Provide technical support to customers, troubleshoot issues, and deliver effective work‑arounds.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of industry practices and contribute to continuous improvement of the product.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering (Master’s or PhD preferred).
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Process Engineer or Technical Support Engineer in refineries, chemical plants, or EPC consultancy.
• Strong analytical, communication, and documentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with dispersed, multi‑time‑zone teams.
• High attention to detail and self‑motivation.

• C# and scripting languages.
• Agile software development methodologies.
• Test automation and software validation techniques.
