Deputy Manager – Labour Welfare Officer

About the role

The Labour Welfare Officer (LWO) will support the HR & Administration function at the Pelhar manufacturing plant, ensuring full statutory compliance with the Factories Act and related labour laws while fostering a safe and engaging workplace for all employees.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain statutory registers, welfare records, notice boards and ensure compliance with the Factories Act, 1948 and other labour legislation.
• Coordinate with DISH, Labour Office, ESIC, PF and local authorities for audits, inspections and statutory reporting.
• Prepare daily, weekly and monthly MIS reports on welfare, compliance and HR metrics.
• Oversee employee welfare amenities such as canteen, restrooms, first‑aid, drinking water, transport and creche facilities.
• Address worker grievances, provide counselling and manage mediclaim documentation and claim settlements.
• Support industrial relations by promoting transparent communication, handling disciplinary actions and assisting in conflict resolution.
• Manage onboarding, induction programmes, training needs assessment and maintain training records.
• Develop and sustain relationships with government and non‑government bodies for smooth statutory and welfare operations.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience in HR or labour welfare within a manufacturing/factory environment.
• Registered/Certified Labour Welfare Officer under the Factories Act, 1948, certified by the Directorate of Industrial Safety & Health (DISH), Maharashtra.
• Strong knowledge of Indian labour legislation, statutory registers and audit processes.
• Excellent record‑keeping, reporting and liaison abilities.
