Consultant Anesthetist – 150‑Bedded Multi‑Speciality Hospital

About the role

The Consultant Anesthetist will provide comprehensive anaesthesia services, peri‑operative medical care and pain management for patients undergoing surgical, diagnostic and therapeutic procedures at a leading 150‑bed super‑speciality hospital serving Bharuch, Valsad, Daman and Ankleshwar. The role also includes participation in emergency resuscitation and critical care activities.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct pre‑anaesthetic evaluations and formulate optimal anaesthesia plans.
• Administer general, regional or local anaesthesia safely and effectively.
• Monitor patients' vital signs intra‑operatively and during recovery.
• Manage post‑operative pain and critical‑care anaesthesia cases.
• Respond promptly to medical emergencies, including cardiac arrests.
• Collaborate with surgeons, physicians and ICU teams for coordinated patient management.
• Maintain accurate anaesthesia records and patient data.
• Ensure anaesthesia equipment and drugs are ready and compliant with safety protocols.
• Supervise and mentor anaesthesia technicians and junior doctors.
• Adhere to hospital safety standards and NABH/JCI accreditation requirements.

Required profile

• MBBS plus MD or DNB in Anaesthesiology from a recognised institution.
• Valid registration with the Medical Council of India or relevant State Council.
• Minimum 5 years of post‑MD experience, preferably in a multi‑speciality hospital.
• Exposure to ICU, trauma and emergency cases is desirable.
