Assistant Manager - Housekeeping

About the role

This entry‑level management position supports daily operations across Housekeeping, Recreation/Health Club and Laundry (if applicable) at a Marriott hotel. You will work closely with staff to maintain guest rooms and public areas, conduct inspections, and help ensure both guest and employee satisfaction while adhering to the operating budget.

Key responsibilities

• Manage housekeeping operations, budgets and inventory of supplies and linens.
• Coordinate room cleaning assignments, communicate room status to the Front Desk, and collaborate with Engineering for maintenance needs.
• Oversee lost‑and‑found procedures and ensure compliance with OSHA and loss‑prevention policies.
• Supervise inspection programs for guest rooms and public spaces, providing feedback to improve service performance.
• Act as the acting supervisor for housekeeping in the absence of the Director or Housekeeping Manager.
• Handle guest complaints, review comment cards, and promote exceptional customer service.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED with at least one year of housekeeping or related experience, OR a 2‑year degree in Hotel & Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration or a related field.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to work effectively with cross‑functional teams.

Required skills

• Knowledge of OSHA regulations and loss‑prevention policies.
• Inventory and budget management.
