About the role
The Thermal Development Manager will lead the range development and tuning activities for vehicle HVAC and thermal systems. Reporting to the Thermal Tuning Manager, the role ensures compliance with entry tickets, regulations, and internal quality standards while coordinating with cross‑functional teams such as software, PWT calibration, and design.
Key responsibilities
- Define technical specifications and finalize NDL documents.
- Plan and monitor QCT (Quality, Cost, Timeline) targets for tuning adaptation and validation.
- Allocate resources including personnel, prototypes, test facilities, and external partners.
- Maintain economic and technical scoreboards throughout project and serial life.
- Drive alignment of tuning activities with performance, design, and test departments.
- Review project pilot deliveries and ensure Metier Quality Engagement (EQM) compliance at each milestone.
- Synthesize calibration maps and oversee calibration maturity reviews.
- Compare COCA (Carry‑over and Carry‑across) plans against actual execution and internal rules.
Required profile
- Engineering degree (Mechanical, Automobile, Mechatronics or related) or equivalent experience.
- 12‑15 years of experience in HVAC/Thermal development on control‑system platforms.
- Vehicle integration experience of HVAC/Thermal subsystems, preferably with Tier‑1 suppliers.
- Deep knowledge of waste‑heat utilization, e‑motor and inverter cooling, battery thermal management, cabin comfort versus energy consumption, and energy‑flow analysis.
- Strong problem‑solving skills for complex project execution.
