TechOps Engineer - Deployment Support

About the role

Trimble is hiring a TechOps Engineer (listed as Technical Customer Support Professional II) in Chennai, India, working onsite. The role bridges complex software solutions and seamless operations, supporting the implementation and deployment of application solutions on hosted and on-premise customer servers. You will own the success of infrastructure deployments and system rollouts for global clients, blending cloud platform orchestration with hands-on systems engineering.

Key responsibilities

• Plan deployment activities with cross-functional teams and stakeholders, defining strategies, timelines and resource needs
• Understand the technical details of deployed systems and guide teams through deployment while identifying risks and proposing workarounds
• Support end-users in using the deployed software, run training sessions and resolve queries
• Maintain deployment documentation (procedures, user guides, troubleshooting resources) and prepare progress reports
• Identify opportunities to optimise the deployment process and propose automation workflows or tools

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field
• Proven experience in deployment support, software implementation or a similar role
• Exceptional written and verbal communication, active listening, organisation and self-direction

Required skills

• Hands-on cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure or similar (compute, storage, networking, databases, IaaS/PaaS/SaaS)
• System administration and networking (server provisioning, configuration management, IP addressing, subnets, routing, load balancing, firewalls)
• Familiarity with virtualisation (VMware, Hyper-V, KVM)
• Cloud security basics: IAM, encryption, network security groups, data protection
• Bonus: scripting with Python, Bash or PowerShell; basic accounting and payroll knowledge; Viewpoint product knowledge
