Lead Software Engineer - .NET & React

About the role

Trimble Unity, a cloud-based construction software platform focused on facility owners and construction professionals, is hiring a Lead Software Engineer in its Chennai office. The role drives advanced technical standards and modern engineering workflows, champions agentic development practices, and acts as a go-to person for technical challenges and a mentor for the wider engineering community.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with scalable architectural designs and ensure robust implementation patterns.
• Manage large-scale context in Cursor (using .cursorrules) so that AI-generated code follows enterprise patterns, and use agentic tools to build and iterate on high-level designs and proofs of concept.
• Identify performance bottlenecks using profilers, memory dumps and APM tools such as New Relic.
• Build technical consensus across teams and act as a key knowledge resource for the engineering community.

Required profile

• Technical leader who leads by example and solves problems in better ways.
• Ability to build consensus across teams and support the engineering community.

Required skills

• Deep proficiency in C#, ASP.NET Core and modern Web APIs.
• Proficiency in React and Micro Frontend (MFE) architecture.
• Unit and integration test automation.
• Bonus: intermediate knowledge of testing methodologies, including data-flow analysis and use-case coverage.
• Bonus: hands-on troubleshooting with production-level application performance monitoring tools.
