Team Manager – Content Operations (Scopus)

About the role

Lead a team of Process/Data Specialists responsible for the completeness, quality and end‑to‑end content flow of Scopus, one of the world’s largest abstract and citation databases. You will oversee operational performance, manage escalations and drive continuous improvement through data and automation.

Key responsibilities

• Govern Scopus completeness standards, quality benchmarks and coverage‑gap closure.
• Oversee content ingestion, production pipelines, clustering, deduplication and quality diagnostics to meet targets.
• Manage exceptions and escalations, collaborating with Content, CSD, PRM, SDM and technology teams.
• Review Power BI dashboards and reporting metrics to ensure accurate, actionable insights.
• Lead, mentor and develop Process/Data Specialists, fostering an inclusive team culture.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in any discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in content operations, data/content quality or scholarly publishing.
• Strong understanding of bibliographic database completeness, metadata standards and governance frameworks.
• Proven people‑leadership skills with experience managing experienced individual contributors.

Required skills

• Power BI or similar dashboarding tools.
• Clustering and deduplication techniques.
• Citation matching and retraction/correction processes.
• Metadata standards and bibliographic data handling.
• AI‑enabled data literacy for automation and data‑driven insights.
