Tandoor Cook

About the role

Dhaba Restaurant is seeking a dedicated Tandoor Cook to join its kitchen team in Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar. This full‑time, on‑site position focuses on preparing authentic tandoor‑cooked breads, kebabs and marinated meats while maintaining high standards of taste, texture and presentation.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and monitor tandoor ovens, adjusting temperature and cooking times as needed.
• Prepare and bake traditional tandoori breads such as naan and roti.
• Grill kebabs, marinated meats and other tandoor items to order.
• Ensure consistent quality, flavor and visual appeal of all dishes.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organized workstation in compliance with hygiene standards.
• Perform inventory checks for tandoor ingredients and assist with stock replenishment.
• Collaborate with kitchen and service staff to ensure timely service.

Required profile

• Relevant experience working with tandoor ovens and preparing traditional tandoori breads and grilled items.
• Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene practices and kitchen sanitation standards.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment, manage multiple orders and maintain quality under pressure.
• Physical stamina to stand for long periods, handle high heat and perform repetitive tasks safely.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays.
