Structural Engineer – Cement & Fly Ash Silo Design

About the role

The position is part of UltraTech Cement’s Design & Drawing Division, responsible for civil‑structural engineering design of cement plant structures, especially cement and fly‑ash silos. The role involves collecting input data, performing analysis, preparing detailed drawings, and providing on‑site remedial measures to minimise production loss.

Key responsibilities

• Collect and review input data from project cells, plant teams and vendors.
• Perform structural analysis and design of plant structures and equipment foundations.
• Prepare detailed design drawings and release them to the project cell on schedule.
• Visit plant sites to diagnose structural problems, propose immediate remedial actions and oversee implementation.
• Conduct field measurements, non‑destructive testing and load testing to verify existing conditions.
• Develop economical and safe strengthening solutions for ageing plant equipment.

Required profile

• Experienced designers or draftsmen with a background in cement plant structures.
• Familiarity with Indian structural codes and standards.
• Working knowledge of mechanical equipment and electrical requirements that affect structural design.
• Ability to obtain and interpret field data, perform load testing and deliver timely design solutions.
• Strong follow‑up skills and patience to coordinate with multiple stakeholders.
