State Head – Trade Channel (Regional Sales Manager)

About the role

Sturlite Voltedge Private Limited is launching a new Power Division and seeks a State Head to lead the Trade Channel for wires, cables and switchgear across a designated Indian state. This senior sales role carries full P&L responsibility for a brand‑new product portfolio and offers the chance to shape market entry from scratch.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a team of 4–6 Area Sales Managers and 18–28 Territory Sales Executives.
• Travel 12–15 days per month across the assigned state to develop distributor and retailer relationships.
• Own the state‑level P&L, setting pricing, sales targets and growth strategies.
• Leverage Sturlite’s existing lighting dealer network (16,000+ partners) to open new distribution channels.
• Introduce and position ISI‑marked, Class 5 copper‑based wires, cables and switchgear against established competitors such as Polycab, Finolex, KEI and RR Kab.
• Build and execute go‑to‑market plans for house wires, flexible/control cables, submersible cables, communication cables, MCBs, RCCBs, isolators and distribution boards.

Required profile

• Senior‑level sales leader with proven experience in the power‑electronics or electrical distribution sector.
• Demonstrated ability to manage a state‑wide sales team and drive P&L performance.
• Comfortable entering a market with no legacy inventory or pricing constraints.
• Strong network within electrical distributors and retailers is a plus.

Required skills

• Knowledge of ISI standards for electrical products.
• Understanding of Class 5 conductor specifications and copper‑purity requirements.
• Experience with wires, cables and switchgear product portfolios.
