Sr. Data Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to lead the technical vision of our Data Engineering team in Hyderabad. The role combines deep technical expertise with strategic thinking to scale our data infrastructure, services, and architecture for high‑trust, business‑aligned outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain robust ETL/ELT pipelines that ingest, transform and load data from multiple source systems into enterprise platforms, ensuring scalability, fault‑tolerance and performance for batch and near‑real‑time processing.
• Create interactive dashboards, scorecards and KPI reporting solutions using BI tools such as AWS QuickSight or Tableau, delivering executive and operational insights.
• Automate repetitive reporting processes through scripting, workflow orchestration and scheduling tools to improve efficiency and accuracy.
• Implement data validation, reconciliation controls, lineage documentation and governance policies to maintain trusted and compliant data assets.
• Provide technical guidance, conduct code reviews and mentor junior engineers, while investigating and resolving production incidents.
• Continuously improve platform reliability, observability, security and cost efficiency through engineering best practices.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in data engineering, building scalable data platforms and automated ingestion pipelines.
• Strong expertise in advanced SQL query writing, performance tuning and data modeling.
• Proven experience with cloud‑based distributed environments such as AWS, EMR, Glue, Iceberg, dbt, Lambda and Athena.
• Hands‑on experience designing secure client data integrations using SFTP and API‑based ingestion.
• Familiarity with reporting and dashboarding tools like AWS QuickSight or Tableau.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline.
