Software Development Manager – Linear Discovery

About the role

Prime Video is looking for a Software Development Manager to lead the Linear Discovery Service team. You will shape how millions of customers discover and interact with live TV content across all Prime Video clients, driving personalized and scalable discovery experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and grow a team of software engineers building the page composition engine for Linear TV.
• Define technical vision and strategy to optimize content placement based on user behavior and business rules.
• Make architectural decisions for scalable services that integrate with recommendation systems.
• Ensure operational excellence, including robust caching and low‑latency content delivery.
• Hire, develop, and retain top engineering talent while fostering an inclusive culture.

Required profile

• 7+ years of software engineering experience.
• 3+ years of experience managing engineering teams.
• 8+ years leading definition and development of multi‑tier web services.
• Strong knowledge of full software/hardware/network development life‑cycle practices, coding standards, code reviews, and source control management.
