Site Reliability Engineer (Python / Go / Kubernetes / Cloud)

About the role

NetApp is looking for a Cloud Infrastructure / Site Reliability Engineer in Bangalore. The role sits at the intersection of development and operations, managing and improving the lifecycle of cloud services from design through deployment, operation and refinement. It covers the PaaS/IaaS platform used by internal engineering teams and customers, and involves a rotation-based on-call schedule as part of a global team.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor, analyse and measure system health, availability and latency using tools such as Prometheus, Grafana and custom internal tools.
• Automate tasks and build scalable, repeatable, idempotent solutions with an automation-first mindset.
• Handle complex live production incidents and cross-platform issues (software, OS, networking, database) in cloud-based SaaS/IaaS environments, performing root cause analysis and applying SRE best practices.
• Improve system and application performance, availability and reliability, and maintain and monitor servers, containers, databases and backend infrastructure.
• Create runbooks and document system knowledge so critical information is always accessible.
• Stay up to date with security protocols and resolve complex security issues.
• Track and resolve issues using Atlassian Jira and the Azure DevOps suite, prioritised by severity.
• Work with other Cloud Infrastructure Engineers and developers, and advise developers on new features and architecture for scalability.
• Debug and troubleshoot bottlenecks across the entire software stack.

Required profile

• Minimum of 5-8 years of experience.
• Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, a master's degree, or equivalent experience.
• Motivated self-starter and self-learner with strong problem-solving skills, able to work Wednesday through Sunday with Monday and Tuesday off.

Required skills

• Scripting and infrastructure automation with PowerShell, Python and Go.
• Deep knowledge of containers, Kubernetes and serverless computing.
• Solid understanding of DevOps methodologies; Azure DevOps experience is a plus.
• Experience with Azure, AWS or Google Cloud is mandatory; Azure is preferred.
