Site Reliability Engineer II

About the role

As a Site Reliability Engineer II you will ensure the reliability, availability, scalability and performance of Mastercard’s mission‑critical payment platforms. You will own operational health, drive automation, and embed SRE best practices across the Treasury Services and broader technology organization.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end reliability of BizOps‑owned services, meeting defined SLIs, SLOs and error budgets.
• Lead major incident response, conduct blameless root‑cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Design and enhance observability frameworks using Splunk, Dynatrace and custom telemetry; improve monitoring, alerting and dashboards.
• Develop automation solutions to reduce manual toil, including scripting, self‑healing mechanisms and intelligent alerts.
• Participate in release planning and ensure production readiness with rollback strategies and documentation.
• Collaborate on capacity planning and performance optimization with engineering teams.

Required profile

• Strong technical ownership, engineering judgment and accountability.
• Experience leading incident response and driving reliability improvements.
• Ability to mentor junior engineers and work closely with product, platform and engineering teams.
