Principal DevOps Engineer – Remote (India)

About the role

The Principal DevOps Engineer will own the design, automation, and operation of hybrid infrastructure spanning on‑premises datacenters and AWS. You will set technical direction for compute, networking, and platform services while mentoring the hosting team.

Key responsibilities

• Own and maintain the PeopleFluent hosting pipeline and automation infrastructure.
• Define and drive the technical vision for compute, networking, and platform services to ensure scalability, security, and maintainability.
• Identify and implement infrastructure optimization opportunities.
• Collaborate with engineering and product teams to gather requirements and communicate design trade‑offs.

Required profile

• 10+ years of industry experience in infrastructure engineering.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
• Strong background in Enterprise Linux administration, networking fundamentals, and virtualization platforms.

• Enterprise Linux (SELinux policies, headless server management)
• Network fundamentals (DHCP, subnetting)
• Virtualization (Proxmox, vSphere, VLANs, virtual switches)
• Monitoring/observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog)
• Version control and scripting (Git, shell scripting)
• AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, Route53)
• Infrastructure as code (Terraform, Ansible, Kubernetes)
• CI/CD automation (Jenkins)
