Shift Incharge – Ferro Alloys Plant

About the role

The Shift Incharge will supervise daily operations of a Submerged Arc Furnace (SAF) in a ferro alloys plant located in Meghalaya. The role ensures production targets are met while maintaining safety and quality standards throughout the shift.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the end‑to‑end smelting process, including raw material charging, furnace operation, tapping, casting and slag chemistry control.
• Monitor and adjust process parameters to achieve optimal furnace performance and product quality.
• Enforce HSE protocols, conduct safety checks and ensure compliance with all safety regulations.
• Coordinate equipment maintenance, troubleshoot breakdowns and minimise downtime.
• Prepare shift reports, track production metrics and communicate with senior management.

Required profile

• 7 to 10 years of experience in ferro alloys or steel plant operations, preferably with SAF handling.
• Proven ability to lead shift teams, manage manpower and ensure safety compliance.
• Strong understanding of production planning, quality control and equipment maintenance.
