Senior Specialist – Customer Experience Design

About the role

Mastercard is seeking an experienced Senior Specialist in Customer Experience Design to join its rapidly growing data and services product development team in Pune. You will work on data‑driven products, creating prototypes and MVPs that span dashboards, chatbots, web and mobile applications, and voice interfaces.

Key responsibilities

• Design proof‑of‑concepts and minimum viable data products using human‑centric design principles, Lean UX and Design Thinking.
• Lead and participate in Design Thinking workshops with cross‑functional teams, industry verticals, regional leads and end‑users.
• Explore AI and ML opportunities while ensuring regulatory compliance and contributing to Mastercard’s design pattern library.
• Create cohesive visual language across web, mobile and IoT form factors and drive experimentation to improve product design quality.
• Collaborate with brand, marketing, technology and product teams to deliver delightful, usable transactional experiences.

Required profile

• Proven experience developing user archetypes, personas, journeys and complex information architectures.
• Strong background in rapid prototyping, sketching, storyboarding and creating visual mockups.
• Portfolio demonstrating multi‑device designs (desktop, tablet, mobile, wearables) and a passion for data‑driven experiences.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Interactive Media Design or equivalent.

Required skills

• Prototyping/wireframing tools: Figma, Sketch, Adobe Experience Design, Adobe Illustrator.
• Visual design tools: Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator), Serif DrawPlus, CorelDRAW, PaintShopPro, Xara.
• Experience with motion graphics and 3D modeling is a strong plus.
• Familiarity with UX research, competitor analysis and iterative design‑test‑redesign cycles.
