Senior Software Engineer – Applications

About the role

LinkedIn is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join its world‑class engineering team. You will design, develop, and support Internet‑scale features and infrastructure, working in a hybrid environment that balances remote work with collaboration at a LinkedIn office.

Key responsibilities

• Scale distributed applications and make architectural trade‑offs using synchronous and asynchronous patterns.
• Write high‑quality code, unit test, and integrate continuously to deliver reliable, 24x7 services.
• Develop multi‑tier, high‑volume, user‑centric applications that meet performance and reliability goals.
• Identify and champion engineering productivity improvements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 4+ years of professional experience with Java and/or C++ (preferred 6+ years).
• Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and software design.
• Experience with object‑oriented design, testing patterns, and building web applications and services.
