Backend Engineer: Core Services

About the role

We are looking for a Backend Engineer to join a fast‑growing healthcare technology company. The role focuses on building and maintaining the core services that power a platform serving millions of users with personalized nutrition and wellness guidance. You will work in a hybrid setting from Hyderabad, collaborating with cross‑functional teams to deliver scalable, secure backend solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend systems that power the web application.
• Collaborate with frontend engineers to create scalable RESTful APIs aligned with business needs.
• Implement best‑practice engineering processes including code reviews, testing, and performance optimisation.
• Work closely with product and business teams to translate user requirements into efficient backend solutions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve server‑side, application, and database issues.
• Monitor, improve, and optimise system performance, reliability and scalability.
• Stay informed about emerging technologies and recommend enhancements for the platform.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional experience in backend development.
• Strong background in JavaScript/TypeScript and Node.js.
• Experience designing and building high‑performance RESTful APIs.
• Solid understanding of relational (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (DynamoDB) databases.
• Hands‑on experience with AWS services such as Lambda, SQS, RDS and EC2.
• Familiarity with containerisation tools like Docker and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
