Senior Design Engineer – Ground Engaging Tools

About the role

The Senior Design Engineer will lead the design, development, validation and continuous improvement of Motor Grader Ground Engaging Tools (GET) such as cutting edges, end bits, ripper points and wear components. Using advanced engineering principles and virtual product development tools, you will create solutions that boost customer productivity, durability and overall cost efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Lead design and development of GET components, including cutting edges, end bits, ripper points and wear packages.
• Perform structural, fatigue, performance and wear simulations to guide design decisions and shorten physical testing cycles.
• Utilize Virtual Product Development (VPD) tools to predict stress, durability, material behavior and wear under diverse operating conditions.
• Develop and validate wear‑performance models using field data, laboratory testing and simulation results.
• Analyze interactions between blade, cutting edge, moldboard and ripper systems to optimize life‑cycle cost.
• Evaluate alternative materials, heat treatments, casting, forging and wear technologies.
• Support prototype builds, laboratory testing, field validation and production rollout.
• Lead root‑cause investigations for field issues using analytical, simulation and test data.
