Senior Electrical Engineer

About the role

Coram AI is building a cloud‑native video security platform that leverages computer vision and AI. As a Senior Electrical Engineer you will lead the electrical design of next‑generation edge‑AI devices such as cameras, intercoms, door readers and access‑control hardware, turning reference designs into production‑ready products.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end board design, including architecture, component selection, schematic capture, PCB layout and design reviews for edge‑inference devices.
• Evaluate embedded chipsets, adapt vendor reference designs and EVKs to meet cost, power and form‑factor targets.
• Lead board bring‑up and validation, covering power sequencing, signal integrity, sensor integration, functional testing and EMC/pre‑compliance.
• Develop and maintain the embedded platform (BSP, bootloader, device trees, drivers and base image) to ensure reliable boot, streaming and OTA updates.
• Manage the full product lifecycle from prototype through EVT/DVT/PVT, vendor handoff and field deployment, including vendor and supplier relationships.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• 5+ years of hardware product development experience with at least one volume‑shipped product.
• Strong communication skills in English and ability to work onsite in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• Schematic capture and high‑speed PCB layout (Altium or equivalent) – DDR/LPDDR, MIPI CSI‑2, USB, Ethernet, PoE.
• Board bring‑up expertise using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers and debugging tools.
• Embedded software proficiency: C, embedded Linux (Yocto or Buildroot), U‑Boot, device‑tree development and driver debugging.
• Design for manufacturability (DFM) and experience with NPI processes and contract manufacturers.
