About the role

Mastercard's Data Commercialization Platform team seeks a Senior Data Engineer to design and deliver a self‑service, automated data platform across multi‑cloud environments. The role spans user‑facing web experiences, APIs, and underlying cloud and lakehouse infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

Build and maintain a governed, intuitive self‑service platform for enterprise data users.
Develop back‑end services in Java (Spring Boot) and front‑end experiences using React and TypeScript.
Design, provision, and secure cloud and lakehouse resources on AWS and/or Azure, including Kubernetes, networking, IAM, and storage.
Implement workflow orchestration with Apache Airflow and integrate with external systems via REST or GraphQL APIs.

Required profile

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
6+ years building scalable data platforms using distributed systems, microservices, and RESTful APIs.
Strong hands‑on cloud engineering experience (AWS/Azure) and infrastructure‑as‑code (Terraform, CloudFormation, CDK).
