Senior Consultant – PowerDesigner to ER/Studio Migration (6-Month Contract)

About the role

PWORLD is hiring a Senior Consultant for a 6-month remote contract to migrate customer PowerDesigner models to ER/Studio. The consultant works with customer architects, data modelers and database teams, leads pilot migrations, defines source-to-target mappings and builds reusable migration frameworks. The candidate is paid through TalentXO's payroll and must be able to join immediately.

Key responsibilities

• Assess the customer's PowerDesigner landscape (CDM, LDM, PDM models), analyze model complexity and dependencies, and identify migration risks and constraints.
• Define the migration approach, standards, governance and quality controls, and run pilot migrations to validate feasibility and effort.
• Execute model migrations using ER/Studio MetaWizard, define source-to-target mappings for metadata, domains, datatypes, relationships, keys and custom attributes, and resolve conversion issues.
• Design and run reconciliation and validation processes, verify structural integrity of migrated models and produce quality metrics, validation reports and acceptance documentation.
• Build automation utilities, scripts, macros and accelerators via the ER/Studio Automation Interface, and create reusable migration playbooks and standards.
• Facilitate workshops and technical reviews, advise leadership on migration decisions, and mentor consultants.

Required profile

• 10+ years in data warehousing, data architecture or enterprise data modeling, including 3+ years with SAP PowerDesigner and 2+ years with ER/Studio Data Architect, plus at least one real metadata-migration or model-conversion project.
• Proven experience in metadata migration, model conversion or repository modernization, and with large, complex enterprise data models.
• Comfortable with a 6-month contract and able to join within about a week.

Required skills

• SAP PowerDesigner (CDM, LDM, PDM models, domains, custom properties, scripts, extensions).
• ER/Studio Data Architect, including MetaWizard and Automation Interface.
• Ability to design automation utilities, scripts, macros and accelerators for bulk migration and validation.
