About the role

Senior Backend Engineer – Ruby on Rails at Easyship, building and maintaining the back‑end of a global shipping platform. The role focuses on scaling RESTful APIs, optimizing performance and delivering new product integrations.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in the entire product life cycle.
• Drive development of new internal products.
• Leverage AI‑assisted tools (Copilot, Cursor, LLMs) to accelerate development and debugging.
• Collaborate with engineering leadership and product teams to set priorities and manage the technical roadmap.
• Provide training and support to internal teams and mentor junior developers.

Required profile

• 7+ years of strong experience with Ruby on Rails and SQL databases.
• Proven ability to build highly scalable systems.
• Writes clean, reusable, and maintainable code.
• Ensures high standards for security and data privacy.
• Familiar with Git and modern project‑management tools.
• Experience with containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, Azure).
• Background working in product teams at startups.
