Principal Software Engineer I – Full-Stack & AWS

About the role

As a Principal Software Engineer I you will join the Digital Health Data and Admin Services Engineering team to design, develop and deliver full-stack cloud-native applications for Digital Health products. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to build scalable, secure solutions that meet healthcare standards.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, and deploy full-stack web applications ensuring performance, scalability and security.
• Develop user-friendly front-end interfaces using modern frameworks such as React or Angular with responsive design and accessibility.
• Build and maintain back-end services, APIs and databases using Node.js, Java Spring Boot, Python and PostgreSQL.
• Integrate and optimize AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, DynamoDB) to create secure, cost-effective cloud solutions.
• Apply DevOps practices with AWS tools to automate deployments, monitor health and manage containers, micro‑services and API‑gateway authentication.
• Collaborate with product managers, UX/UI designers and engineering teams to gather requirements and deliver high-quality software.
• Implement testing strategies (unit, integration, end-to-end) and resolve bugs and performance issues.
• Stay updated on industry trends and suggest improvements to architecture and processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of full-stack development experience, preferably on healthcare digital applications.
• Experience with healthcare standards and regulations such as HL7, FHIR and HIPAA.
• Proven ability to work in a fast‑paced agile environment and mentor junior engineers.
