Senior Accountant – Statutory Centre of Excellence

About the role

Join Mastercard’s Statutory Centre of Excellence in Pune as a Senior Accountant. You will lead a team of finance professionals responsible for global statutory reporting and external audit coordination, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform complex accounting activities, including sub‑ledger accounting and preparation of high‑level financial statements, in line with GAAP and other standards.
• Analyze financial performance, exercise judgment on complex issues, and provide recommendations to leadership.
• Escalate and resolve accounting complexities, supporting process improvements and SOX compliance.
• Maintain strong relationships with internal business partners, external auditors, and internal audit teams.
• Research, interpret, and apply accounting guidance to ensure consistent policy application.

Required profile

• Strong technical accounting background with experience in statutory reporting.
• Excellent analytical skills and ability to drive projects to completion.
• High energy, intellect, and a proactive “can‑do” attitude.
• Effective communication and relationship‑building skills across cross‑functional teams.
