Senior Accountant – Accounting Operations

About the role

The Senior Accountant will be part of the Accounting Operations team, responsible for overseeing daily financial transactions with accuracy and regulatory compliance. The role combines cost and budget accounting, as well as accounts payable/receivable and billing functions, supporting the organization’s financial performance.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day financial transactions ensuring accuracy and adherence to accounting principles and regulations.
• Perform cost accounting activities, including allocation of direct and indirect costs and variance analysis between actual and budgeted costs.
• Develop, monitor and report on annual revenue and expense budgets to control funds and measure operating results.
• Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing and invoicing processes across the business.
• Coach and mentor less‑experienced staff, providing informal supervision and guidance.
• Support project‑level decision‑making by applying practical accounting methods and influencing tactical financial decisions.

Required profile

• Relevant work experience in accounting, cost accounting or budget accounting.
• Advanced education in finance, accounting or a related discipline.
• Ability to work independently within defined boundaries while seeking supervision for complex tasks.
• Demonstrated capability to apply practical accounting methods, techniques and processes.
• Experience coaching or mentoring junior team members and overseeing lower‑level professional work.
