Senior Accountant – Liquor Retail Industry

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Accountant with strong experience in accounting, taxation, inventory control and statutory compliance, preferably in the liquor retail industry.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day accounting, bookkeeping, journal entries and financial transactions.
• Handle accounts payable/receivable, bank, cash and ledger reconciliations.
• Oversee month‑end and year‑end closing and financial reporting.
• Prepare and file GST, TDS, TCS and other statutory returns, reconciling GSTR‑1, GSTR‑3B and GSTR‑2B.
• Manage liquor purchase invoices, excise documentation and State Excise compliance.
• Reconcile physical stock with ERP records and investigate shortages, damages and variances.
• Prepare daily/monthly MIS, sales, margin, profitability and cash‑flow reports.
• Support internal and statutory audits and maintain strong financial controls.

Required profile

• 5–8+ years of relevant accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of GST, TDS, TCS and statutory compliance.
• Experience in liquor retail, FMCG or retail preferred.
• Familiarity with State Excise regulations is an advantage.
• High attention to detail, integrity and ability to meet deadlines.
